CAPE TOWN TV SERIES – THE TRAFFICKING CONTINUES
Jackie Watson, the French Reporter was on the red carpet at the VIP Premiere & Screening of ‘Cape Town,’ which was held at The Landmark in Los Angeles.
The premiere was presented by Daphna E. Ziman, president of the tv network Cinémoi, along with ‘Cape Town’ executive producer and star, Boris Kodjoe.
Jackie had the wonderful privilege of speaking with both Ziman and Kodjoe about the story behind ‘Cape Town’ as well as their reasons for creating the series.
Ziman, also a New York Best Selling Author, director, and philanthropist explained that the ‘Cape Town’ series was based on the novel, “Dead Before Dying” by Deon Meyer. The novel offers a glimpse into how the lawlessness and political unrest of South Africa has made ‘Cape Town’ a destination for sex-traffickers in which they harbor their victims. Kodjoe chose to turn the book into a series in an effort to help shine the light on the many dark truths and realities of sex-trafficking.
Kodjoe, who also plays the role of Sanctus Snookan in ‘Cape Town,’ is an Austrian-born actor of German and Ghanaian descent. Kodjoe chose to work on the series in order to share with the world various content and cultures from other countries.
