“The Care Concert: There’s No Place That’s Home” Raises Approximately $30,000 to End Homelessness in Southern California
June 11th, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA – Saturday night, musicians, philanthropists, and celebrities joined together at the Palace Theatre in Downtown, Los Angeles for We Can California’s The Care Concert: There’s No Place That’s Home to raise funds and awareness to the homelessness crisis in Southern California.
Kelly Osbourne, Madeline Zima, and Karina Smirnoff were the Masters of Ceremonies for the evening. The meaningful event included a silent auction, a VIP Reception, and many lovely duets and musical performances.
The concert was a beautiful evening where success and generosity came together to truly impact the homelessness crisis, with 100% of the money raised being given directly to those in need through the work of Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission and The Teen Project.
Additional members of the host committee included Vivica A. Fox, Melissa Rivers, Melia Kreiling, Laraine Newman, Lisa Loeb, Esai Morales, as well as Karina Smirnoff and Madeline Zima.

The Care Concert helped to raise the much needed funds and awareness to the homelessness crisis in Southern California. The Get Together Foundation was founded by Kevin Wachs, co-founder of THE TRIBE and Earthly Body, which have raised huge amounts for worthy causes over the years.
THE TRIBE is a collective of LA-based session and touring musicians and vocalists, including a variety of famous artists who gather to perform for various causes, using their creative skills to raise money and awareness. Proceeds from their events have gone to a number of charities that help people and the environment.

Hope of the Valley has been providing hope, hot meals, housing, health services and healing to homeless women, men and children in Los Angeles since 2009. The organization’s mission is to meet the needs of the “whole” person – spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
About The Teen Project:
The Teen Project provides teens aging out of the foster care system with resources and support for a successful transition into adulthood. With three locations in Los Angeles, The Teen Project offers safe housing, college support, job placement, and free drug treatment to LA’s homeless and at-risk young adults.
