FACE FORWARD HOSTS ‘COMICS WITHOUT BORDERS’
Jackie Watson, the French reporter, faced a host of celebrities at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood, CA. where Face Forward hosted ‘Comics Without Borders.’ The event, held to raise money and awareness for domestic abuse victims, also served as the platform on which Face Forward announced the addition of human trafficking victims to their list of assisted victims.
Face Forward is an organization that provides pro-bono reconstructive surgery to women, children and men who have been victims of domestic violence or cruel acts of crime. Face Forward also creates a welcoming and safe environment for the victims to start a new life and reclaim their confidence. With domestic violence occurring every 15 seconds in the United States, the Face Forward Foundation strives to alleviate the internal and external scars of victims of those affected.
Face Forward founder and CEO Mrs. Deborah Alessi founded Face Forward in 2007. Mrs. Alessi is a survivor of domestic violence and she is a true advocate against it. In order to help other survivors get a second chance at life, Mrs. Alessi recruited her husband Dr. David Alessi, M.D., a renowned facial reconstructive surgeon.
Both Deborah and David have graciously donated their lives to running Face Forward. Together, the couple works consistently to aide victims by helping them live out the rest of their lives in true courage and confidence.
At the event, Jackie spoke directly with both Deborah and Dr. David Alessi concerning the future plans of Face Forward and their new partnership with human trafficking. Jackie also had the wonderful opportunity to speak with Hanifa Nakiryowa, a domestic violence survivor, who received a facial reconstruction from Dr. Alessi. Her results are beautifully amazing. Prayers of strength to Hanifa as she moves forward with her life.
Other celebrities and event attendees included Juliette Harris, Jimmy Delshad, Barak Raviv, Dr. Nancy Rehnama, Daniel DiCriscio, Bradley Smith, Gregorio Sanchez, and Nancy Moeller, just to name a few.
