LAST CHANCE FOR ANIMALS GALA
Great Celebration for the Last Chance for Animals star-studded benefit gala at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, the organization celebrated 31 years of fighting animalcruelty.
Celebrity guests included Pamela Anderson, who was this year’s Vegan of the Year Award recipient, and Priscilla Presley who was honored with the Celebrity Award. Shera Danese Falk, widow to Colombo star Peter Falk, received the Albert Schweitzer Award.
Hosting the evening’s festivities were actor/model & activist Katie Cleary and radio & TV host Mark Thompson.
The night was filled with great performances by the 11-piece orchestra band That Vibe, celebrity photographer and musician Christopher Ameruoso who opened the evening with an acoustic version of “I Want Candy,” performed with Bow Wow Wow singer Annabella Lwin. And of course, there was plenty of vegan food to go around. It was truly a great night of enjoyment and for such a great cause.
Founder Chris DeRosa was one of the speakers at the gala. Chris, among others, has devoted his entire life to saving animals and he has made many courageous attempts at putting a stop to animal cruelty. He has been arrested and has made attempts to break up laboratory testing. Now that takes courage!
Also in attendance were Cloris Leachman, Alexandra Paul (Baywatch), Donna D’Errico (Baywatch), Allison Eastwood, EG Daily (Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure), Chuck Zito (Sons of Anarchy), Frank Stallone, Zach Ward (Titus), Tammin Sursock (Pretty Little Liars), Lee Meriwether (the original Catwoman), No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal, Earthlings creator Shaun Monson, and Blackfish creator Manuel Oteyza.
Remember, always be kind to animals. And in the words of Shera Danese Falk, ‘If we were all always kind to every animal, what a beautiful world this would be.’
