The Peggy Albrecht Friendly House’ 26th Annual Award Luncheon
Jackie Watson, the french reporter, was on the red carpet of recovery in Beverly Hills at the Peggy Albrecht Friendly House’ 26th Annual Award Luncheon. The foundation honored television personality, designer and actress, Kelly Osbourne as Woman and of the Year and singer-songwriter, musician, DJ Moby was honored as Man of the Year. Los Angeles city council president Herb J. Wesson was awarded the Excellence in Service award.
According to the foundation’s website, the Peggy Albrecht Friendly House was founded in 1951 and was one of the first treatment centers in the country for women recovering from substance and alcohol abuse. In fact, it’s one of the models for recovery homes in the United States and Europe. They have successfully treated thousands of women with a success rate of 76% compared to the hospital average of 35%. The organization is solely supported by private donations and grants, by the fund-raising efforts of the Board of Directors, Grateful Hearts (former residents of Friendly House), and special events such as their annual awards luncheon and Fashion for Life.
During the luncheon, Jackie had the pleasure of speaking with Executive Director Peggy Albrecht about the organization, it’s accomplishments, recent renovations, and future plans and programs.
Jackie also had a chance to talk with Kelly Osbourne and other celebrities such as Sydney Holland, Tony Denison, Brad Goreski, Michelle Johnson and many others.
The luncheon was quite a success and we were honored to be a part of such a great cause.
We would like to thank Peggy Albrecht, Kelly Osbourne and all of our celebrities for their time and service.
We would also like to give a huge thumbs up to our Ray Ray, who himself, is a recent recovering addict. Good luck Ray Ray we are so very proud of you. Best wishes to you and your new, uh … girlfriend?
Closing thoughts: Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength—Michelle Johnson
