Second Annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation Ever After Fundraiser Ball
Studio City, 26 August 2017 – Jackie the French Reporter brought her support to the Second Annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation Ever After Fundraiser Ball to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a childhood cancer charity funding the most promising research to help find cures for kids with cancer.
Alison Sutton gave us the details about this wonderful organization and the event: “The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants, and tonight on the CBS lot we are having the Ever After Ball Fundraiser, to raise money for childhood cancer to help kids. A lot of kids will receive adult drug treatment and so what we are trying to do is find treatment specifically for kids with cancer so that they are not receiving treatments that are meant for adult bodies, they are receiving treatments that are meant specifically for kids.”
Heartbreakingly, according to the St. Baldrick’s Foundations website: “More children die of childhood cancer than any other disease in the U.S., and every year 300,000 kids worldwide are diagnosed. And cancer doesn’t care about borders, race, nationality, age, socioeconomic status or religion—it can strike any child at any time.”
Vinny Fasline lit the candle in a gloomy room for us, saying: “We actually have two kids here, Hazel and Zein, and they both survived and St. Baldrick’s funded one of the drugs that they recently approved. Four of the last five drugs that they recently approved for children, St. Baldrick’s funded.”
Most of the celebrities and supporters on the red carpet has had personal experiences with cancer, as have most of us. An organization such as St. Baldrick’s is a light in the dark for those of us staring the terror of cancer in the face. Please support this incredible organization in any way you can. Visit www.stbaldricks.org to learn more about the amazing work the organization does and how you can support them or get involved in their efforts.
And in case you were wondering, yes they actually are those crazy head-shaving people!
