Hilary Duff’s New Album
Breathe In, Breathe Out
Hilary Duff’s new album, Breathe In, Breathe Out, likely alludes to her struggles and successes over the past few years. But regardless, Hilary Duff has clearly grown from one of America’s much-loved child stars to the apple of everyone’s eye — especially to the now 20-somethings who used to be her kiddie fans!
There are a total of 14 tracks on the new album which also features three co-written tracks by rising pop star, Tove Lo and one by ‘Ginger Jesus’ Ed Sheeran. Every good artist knows that collaboration is the key to achieving an artist’s full potential, so it’s great to see that Duff tapped into this. Plus, rather than focusing solely on the classic pop “breakup album” vibe Duff is used to reaching for, this album proves to be more about self-discovery and growth. It even features some uber-current club beats. My personal favorite? “Night Like This,” featuring Big Time Rush’s Kendall Schmidt. Reminiscent of Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz’s popular duet, “Lucky,” the vocals on this summer romance track are delicate and sweet, making for the perfect snap-your-fingers tune which you will have on repeat all day long.
To promote the album, Duff dropped by her local Target store and completely took over the store intercom – something her Lizzie alter ego was likely to do back in the day! Reminding shoppers of the shenanigans little Lizzie would pull on her show, Duff announced that customers could make their way over to electronics to buy her new album. She ended the impromptu takeover with, ‘and the tan Camry left its lights on. Bye!’
Cute as ever. We missed you, Hilary —Welcome back!
