The Key to Bai Ling
World renowned relationship expert and counselor, Dr. Elena Eustache recently had the opportunity to sit down and talk one-on-one with a very special guest; actress, writer and producer, Bai Ling.
Bai Ling is a Chinese-American actress known for her work in films such as The Crow, Red Corner, Crank: High Voltage, Wild Wild West, Anna and the King, and Southland Tales.
Bai Ling sat down with Dr. Eustache and talked about many topics including her new film The Key. She also talked exclusively about her role as Madam Shin Daiya in Lord of Shanghai, a film which was set in the 1920’s Shanghai, in which a woman becomes romantically entangled with three generations of gangsters on her way to becoming the Lord of the Shanghai Triad. She also discussed the very challenging role she played as Princess of Tuptim in Anna and the King.
During the interview, Bai Ling shared many details about her work and herself. Two actors that Bai Ling would like to work with in the future are Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. According to Bai Ling, the most romantic and fun scene that she has played in was in the movie Red Corner where she plays the character Shen Yeulin and stars opposite of Richard Gere.
Her definition of love is to give life, to breathe and to be pure. She describes herself as being air, water, fire, wind, vulnerable, daring, open and honest, simple and happy. She is grounded by her appreciation of life and the gift she has as an actress. She views her gift as being a tool in which she can give love and hope to others and to touch their hearts and to show them the sensitivity of their own souls.
She also shared with Dr. Eustache the characteristics she seeks in a man whom she would define as being her dream man. She would like him to be handsome, musically talented, romantic, sensitive, impractical, and one who possesses a sense of humor.
Additionally, she would offered up some advice to young girls, “Be brilliant at who you are and follow your heart.”
